[Jecht is puttering around, cleaning up camp, in an unusually good mood. He doesn't know that anyone is coming to see him, or he'd be more on guard, but for now, he's pretty pleased with how the last few days have gone.]

[Tidus starts to approach, but the closer he is to Jecht, the longer he hesitates before he keeps moving. He has to stop and just stare at him. The whole thing seems very surreal. Eventually he's able to distract himself by looking at his surroundings instead as he enters the camp, stepping on a twig.]

[Jecht's happy, not stupid. As soon as he hears someone else in the room with him, he spins. And when he sees who it is... just the kid.]

[Tidus blinks several times before he manages to mumble a reply.]

[And that's it. He folds his arms, wondering what the hell put his old man in such a good mood.]

[just a certain half-crazy clown who Jecht's been spending a lot of time with. And some of that may have crept onto the community.]

[Tidus really doesn't want to find out about Jecht's love life, but he'll probably find out anyway. Stupid inquisitive nature. He nudges at something with his foot.]

Yeah? [He doesn't believe it, Tidus, and he crosses his arm and leans against a tree. Waiting for the real answer.]

[He kicks a rock, still looking down.] Why're you so happy?

What, I ain't allowed to be happy now?

Isn't a pilgrimage supposed to be serious?

[Snort.]

Says the kid whose summoner's been kidnapped -- how many times?
